The Server Settings page helps in getting a overview and also provides an interface to update various configuration available for the Server. This page gives details on Server configuration Options, the Server Disk Space Utilization, Server MCAL utilization and backup storage location details.
Server Settings
The page is organized with three parts of information. The first part describes the Server settings and their values and the other two parts summarize the Storage Disk Space Utilization and Backup Storage Location details.
Server Name : Non-editable field displaying the server's ID value. In case, the Server is running in a cluster, this shows the cluster name of the cluster.
Backup Location : This is the directory into which all the client backups are stored. Note that if we change this location, the new directory will take effect only for the new clients backing up to this server. Backup data of all existing clients who are already backing up on to this server will still be stored in the same location. You can edit this directory location either manually or by selecting the backup location from the directory tree by clicking the button provided at the end of the text box.
Backup Space Allotted : This field specifies the total backup space allotted for the Server. By default, the total backup space allotted in the server will be 30% of the free disk space available. You can update this value to increase or decrease the total backup space in this server allotted for all the clients. Please ensure you've selected MB/GB option correctly before saving.
CPU Utilization Settings : This is used to specify how this server's CPU should be utilized by the process when clients are backing up on to this server. This is especially useful if this server is a desktop with a user actively using it. Setting it to Low will make the process do the backup slowly without taking much CPU so that it is least intrusive. If this is a dedicated Backup Server, then the CPU Utilization should be set to high so that backups can happen fast.
Replication Status : This is used to know whether Replication is enabled for the Backup Server.
Replication Server : If Replication is enabled, this field displays the Replication Server Name. You can choose the replication server from the "Server Management -> Replication Management -> Configure Replication" page. You can learn more about how server replication works from the section Replication of server.
Replication Password (Applicable only to Replication server) : This is the password that backup servers need to authenticate against before replicating to this replication server.
Active Cluster Nodes (Applicable only when clustering enabled) : This specifies the active cluster nodes available in the Server(Backup/Replication) cluster.

Bandwidth Throttling:
In a Backup Server, 's Bandwidth Throttling feature enables the user to limit the bandwidth usage for a backup schedule. Bandwidth can be configured at the backup server level, customer and client levels.
In a Replication Server, 's Bandwidth Throttling feature enables the user to limit the bandwidth usage for replication of a backup. Bandwidth can be configured at the backup server level from the 'Settings -> Bandwidth Throttling Settings' page.
The user needs to specify the following fields:
-
Enable bandwidth throttling : Choose to enable or disable bandwidth throttling. If enabled, there are again two options:
Throttle each backup to maximum of : Rate to limit bandwidth usage.
-
Allow clients to reset their web access password:
You can allow end users to reset their client Web Access Password by providing 'Forgot Password' link in the backup server webconsole login page. You can allow or disable this option in this page.
Save Button : Once all the above options are set, click the "Save" button to save the server settings.
NOTE : The backup location, backup space etc. can be individually configured for each of the clients from the Client Backup Configuration page.
This displays the disk space details of the machine.
In , multiple backup locations can be configured to store the backup data. This page gives information about these different backup locations on the backup server.
This table shows the MCALs added to the server and MCALs used by the clients.
