List Backup Schedules For Client

How to get here in the Web Console?
In the top menu, select: "Server Admin->Reseller Management->List of Resellers". From the list of resellers displayed in the table, click on the Reseller Name. This lists the customers under this Reseller. Now click on the Customer Name. This lists the clients under this Customer. Now, click on a client name. This will open a page which lists the backup schedules backing up to this server (from the selected client).

Activate/De-Activate Button - Clicking on this icon when in activated state will de-activate a backup and vice-versa. When you de-activate a backup, you cannot continue backing up to the backup job. But the client can restore data from the backup. If you would like to prevent client from affecting the backup data available in a backup job, you can de-activate a backup.

Proceed To Restore Button - Clicking on this icon will proceed to the restore screen for the backup. This screen can be used to restore the data on the Server side. NOTE: To restore the backed up data in the Server, you need to know the encryption password of the backup. If you don't know the encryption password of the backup, you cannot restore the data, or even view the files backed up in the Server. Please check out the detailed steps for Server side restore here.

Replicate Now - Clicking on this icon will start the replication schedule immediately.

Suspend/Resume Replication - This is a toggle icon which will resume the replication if on suspend mode and vice-versa.

Delete Backup Button - Clicking on this icon will schedule a delete job in this server for the selected backup schedule(s). The delete operation will be done asynchronously. The server will also notify the backup client about the delete operation so that the client can take appropriate action. Note that if the delete operation did not succeed for any reason, then the delete operation has to be manually scheduled again by the user.

Run Retention Cleanup - You can run the retention cleanup process by clicking on this action. The retention cleanup process will delete any excess version files present in the server. Like for example, if the retention version count or retention period configuration is reduced in the client machine, then the backup server can be forced to clean up these excess versions of the files by running the Run Retention Cleanup(the client should have connected at least once after the retention was changed for the backup schedule in the client).

Change Client Side Settings - The backup settings on the client such as Backup Window, Bandwidth Throttling, Automatic Software Update options can be changed from the backup server. Also Adding a Backup Schedule is also possible. These changes made in the backup server will be picked up by the client and the client will automatically apply them. The settings that are shown in this page may not be the same present in the client currently.

Export backup - The backup data can be exported to any destination location by clicking on this icon. This feature allows the user to export the backup data and the backup database to the user given destination location as a "Local" backup type which is then used to restore by attaching the data to the Client (using Local backup "Disaster Recovery "). Instead of restoring the backup data from the client by connecting the backup server, using this feature, the data can be restored quickly from the client machine itself thereby saving time and bandwidth usage. The backup is exported as a "Local " backup for this purpose.

The export of backup data can be executed with two options namely

  • With a prefix name (Alias name) - If the user wishes to attach the exported backup data and restore it in the case where the backup already exists in the Client, then this option should be used.Otherwise the backup cannot be attached to the Client using "Disaster recovery " (as the backup names are always unique for a client) . Here, the backups are exported by using a user given prefix name and the backup is exported in the format "Prefix_Backup_Name ".

Important Note:: The backup(s) exported with this option can be attached to the Client and can only be used to restore the backup data. The backup options like "Schedule ", "Suspend/Resume ", "Edit " is not available for such backups.

  • Without prefix name - If the user wishes to attach the exported backup data in the client and restore it in the case where the client is freshly installed with the same " ID ", then this option can be used. For such backups, all the backup options like "Schedule ", "Suspend/Resume ", "Edit ", "Restore " are available.
