Edit Reseller in Server
Overview
From this page, you can edit the reseller information and settings you provided while adding the reseller to your server. You can edit the following information and settings about the reseller. Once you click the Update button the new values will override all the old values.
How to get here in the Web Console?
In the top menu, select: "Server Admin->Reseller Management->List of Resellers" and click on the "Edit Reseller" icon in the action column of this reseller row.
Edit Personal Information
Reseller Name - A non-editable field displaying the name of this Reseller.
Email, Address, City - These are all editable fields and you can edit all these details, which you have provided while adding the reseller.
Phone, Fax and Notes - Phone number, Fax and Notes provided while adding this reseller, can be edited if there is a change.
Basic Configuration
Backup Location - Storage location for the backup data for this reseller.
Used Space - Total space occupied by the backup data in the given location.
Restrict Usage Space To - Total space allocated for all the customers under this reseller.
Space Utilization Snapshot for server:
Total Backup Space on Server - Disk space configured in the Server for the backup data.
Total Backup Space allotted to resellers - The sum of the disk space allotted to the different Resellers in the Server.
Free Backup Space available - Free space available in the server which is not allocated to any Reseller i.e., it is the difference between total backup space in the server and the total backup space allotted to resellers.
The link “Edit Disk Space Allocated for Server/Reseller/Customer/Client” takes the user to Settings -> Disk Space & Client Management. This lists the resellers, customers, their clients and their backup schedules with their MCAL and Space details. The space settings can be edited here.
Automatically add clients when they connect to the server [Enable/Disable] - If you want the clients under this Reseller to backup without adding the client names ( IDs) manually in the server, then keep the Auto Authorization enabled for this Reseller. The Clients will be automatically created in the server when the clients backup to this server for the first time. Clients will be by default added under Default Customer in Default Reseller.
Email Reports (Enable/Disable) - You can enable Email Reports for particular Reseller to receive email reports of backup/restore/delete/replication modules of the clients present under this particular Reseller to the email address given in the 'Email' option.
Web Access [Enable/Disable] - You can enable web access to your reseller by which the Reseller can log into the server web console and manage the backups from their Customers.
User Name: The user name with which the Reseller can log into this server's web console.
Password: The password to be used to login to the server's web console.
Confirm Password: This field is used to confirm that the password is entered correctly in the password field.
Theme Settings:
When this option is enabled, the Reseller and the Reseller's customers logging into the backup server will see the web console in the Reseller's specific theme as set here. If Theme Settings is not enabled, then the web console will have the same look and feel for all Resellers and Customers. Obviously this option is available only when Web Access is enabled for the Reseller. By default this option is disabled.
Once enabled, click on 'Click here to configure themes' link to configure the Reseller Theme. The following UI elements can be configured:
- Product Name: Reseller can choose a different product name that they want to expose to their customers
- Company Name: Reseller's company name can be mentioned here.
- Page Title: This is title that will appear on the web console pages. This can be customized as per the Reseller's choice.
- Website URL: This URL could be the Reseller's Web Site URL to which the Reseller wants to direct his customers to when they click on the links under the Help menu
- Colors: The Menu background and Font Colors can be changed. As you change the color, the preview on the top will automatically reflect the changes.
- Images: Reseller can choose their own Product and Company logos that would be displayed when they or their customers log into the backup server web console.
Advanced Configuration
- MCALs Allotted - Auto/Number of MCALs allotted while adding the Reseller. This field can be edited for the resellers other than the 'Default Reseller'.
MCALs Utilization Snapshot for server [ Server(Cluster) ]
Total MCALs added to the Server - This shows the total number of MCALs added to the Server.
Total MCALs already used by or allocated to Resellers - This shows the total number of MCALs already used up in the Server (by all clients).
MCALs available in the Server - This shows the number of MCALs available in Server.
Activated [Yes/No] - Only activated Resellers' clients are allowed to backup to the server. By default all Resellers start off 'Activated'. If you prefer to start this Reseller in a deactivated state, you can do so. Of course, you can prevent a Reseller (and hence all the clients under the Reseller) from backing up to the server by simply deactivating the Reseller at any time.
Set bandwidth throttling specifically for this reseller - 's Bandwidth Throttling feature enables the user to limit the bandwidth usage for a backup schedule. Bandwidth can be configured at the backup server, reseller, customer and client levels.
Save Button - After configuring the options specified above, click on the "Save" button to save the configuration. Once the Reseller settings has been saved, a confirm alert message will be displayed to send the account details to the Reseller in an Email. Click "OK" if you would like to view and send the Email. This confirmation alert will be displayed, only if you have enabled Email feature in the 'Settings->Email Settings' page.
