Edit Cluster Node

Overview

Through this feature you can edit the existing cluster node with its basic configurations, the external DNS Lookup name or IP and the ports in which the server is listening for backup/restore/replication requests.

It is recommended that the Server instances are taken down before the Cluster node is edited, as this will enable fresh cluster node configuration when the instance is restarted.

How to get here in the Web Console?
In the top menu, select "Server Management -> Cluster Management -> List Cluster Nodes" page, and then select the ‘Edit Cluster Node’ Action.

Edit Cluster Node

When a new Server instance is started within a cluster, it registers itself with the Cluster using the cluster node configuration specified while installing . This occurs when the relevant (with same ID) cluster node configuration is unavailable. Thus some of the cluster node's basic configuration might not be as intended.

This could be corrected by using the ‘Edit Cluster Node’ action.

Here are the steps to edit a Node to the Cluster

Step 1: Specifies the name of the Cluster. This is non-editable.

Step 2: Specifies the ID or the node name of the cluster node. This is non-editable.

Step 3: Specify the external IP address or DNS lookup name at which the requests coming to the Node will be sent to. Typically this is the external IP/DNS lookup name of the NAT that forwards the requests to the Node.

Step 4: Specify the non-SSL Backup Port at which installed in the node will be listening on.

Step 5: Specify the SSL Backup port at which installed in the node will be listening on.

Step 6: Save the Cluster Node configuration

Once edited, when the Cluster Node's instance starts the next time, it will get refreshed with the latest values.
