View List Of Groups
How to get here in the Web Console?
In the top menu, select: "Server Admin->Group Management->List of Group"
You can view the list of groups under the groups tree on your left hand side and also in the list of groups table placed right to the groups tree.
This page lists all the groups added to the server with the following details:
Group Name : The name of group. This is unique for each group
MCALs Allotted - This is the number of MCAL units allotted to the group. If the clients under a group consume all of the MCALs allotted to that Group, then none of the Clients under that group can backup to the backup server, even though there may be MCAL units available in the backup server. It is not necessary to manually allocate MCALs to group. You can choose "Automatically use MCALs as required" option from "Advanced Configuration" section when creating/editing Group. If MCALs are not manually limited to the group, then the backup server will automatically use the MCALs available in the server pool. You only need to allocate MCALs to a group if you want to restrict only certain number of clients to backup.
Total MCALs used till date - This is the total number of MCALs used by the different client machines under this Group.
Allotted Space - This is the total backup disk space allotted to the group.
Used Space : The disk space currently occupied by the backup data from all clients listed under this group.
Actions : The action icons under this column are linked to each of the group administration/management pages. The following hyper-linked group management icons are available:
-
Enable / Disable Auto Authorization : This action icon toggles between two states, i.e if Auto Authorization is enabled, you can disable it by clicking on this icon and vice versa. If you want the clients in this group site to backup without your adding the client names ( IDs) manually in the server, then keep the Auto Authorization enabled for this group.
Activate /Deactivate : This action icon toggles between two states, i.e if the group is active, then you can deactivate the group and vice versa. Only active groups' clients are allowed to backup to the server. You can prevent a group and hence all the clients under the group from backing up to the server by simply deactivating the group.
Edit Group : You can edit the group settings by going to the "Edit Group" page by clicking on this icon.
Add New Client : Clicking on this icon will take you to the "Add New Client" page. Here you can add a new client for a group using the ID for the client. Note that the client should use the same ID when it backs up to the server. Also note that if you have enabled Auto Authorization for this group, then you need not add the clients manually. server will automatically add the clients as and when the client backs up to the server. You can always edit the client settings later.
View Clients : Clicking on the group name will take you to the page where all the backup clients under this group are listed in a table format. You can administer and manage each client from this page.
Proceed to Delete Group - Clicking on this icon will take you to the Delete Group Page.
Edit Replication - Clicking on this icon will take you to configure Group Replication Scheduling. Note that you can configure different scheduling options and replication servers for different groups. By default all groups will be replicated to the globally configured, replication configuration from the Replication Management page.
Deleted Client/Backup Report : Clicking on this icon will take you to the "Deleted Reports" page. This page lists in a table format all the backups, clients etc. deleted by either the server administrator or by the client itself.
Please click on the specific action links to learn more about how to use each of the action icon to administer and manage your groups and their backup clients.
