Migrating Clients
Overview
supports seamlessly allowing a client who is under a default Group to move to a different Group. Using this feature, data can be moved from a default group to any other group or from one group to another. This UI page is used to configure the moving of data from a group to another group.
Migrating Clients
supports seamless migration of a client grouped under one Group to another Group. Please note that client migration doesn't move the backup data from its present backup location.
The steps to follow for moving a client from one group to another are given below:
Step 1: Select the group name (from which the clients are to be migrated) from the select box named 'Group Name' on the left hand side.(i.e Migrate from).
Step 2: Select the Group Name from the select box named 'Group Name' on the left hand side
Step 3: All the Clients under the group(selected in the previous step) will be listed. Note that by default all the clients' will be checked. (i.e all the clients under this group will be migrated).
You can also select particularly the clients you wish to migrate. Check the clients, you wish to migrate.
Step 4: Select the group to which the clients to be migrated from the select box named 'Group Name' on the right hand side.(i.e Migrate to). Incase if you wish to migrate to a new group, first add the group by clicking on "Server Admin->Group Management->Add New Group" Then proceed with the above steps.
Step 5: Press the migrate button to initiate the migration. The migration should finish in a few seconds. Note if any of the clients' are active, (Backup, Restore, Delete, Replication is in progress) that particular client cannot be migrated.
Troubleshooting Tips
Limitations
If Clustering is enabled in the backup server, then you will not be able to migrate a client if it is (or the client's parent Group) node locked to one cluster node and the Group to which the client is to be migrated is node locked to a different cluster node.
