Edit Group in Server
Overview
From this page, you can edit the group information and settings you provided while adding the group to your server. You can edit the following information and settings about the group. Once you click the Update button the new values will override all the old values.
How to get here in the Web Console?
In the top menu, select: "Server Admin->Group Management->List of Group. Click on the "Edit Group" icon in the action column of this group row.
Group Pass Key - Users can use this Passkey to register their client machines under this Group account from the client machine web console before the client machines can start backing up to the backup server.
Edit Personal Information
Group Name - A non-editable field displaying the name of this Group.
Email, Address, City - These are all editable fields and you can edit all these details, which you have provided while adding the group.
Phone, Fax and Notes - Phone number, Fax and Notes provided while adding this group, can be edited if there is a change.
Basic Configuration
Backup Location - The storage location for the backup data for this group.
Used Space - Total space occupied by the backup data in the given location.
Restrict usage space to - Total space allocated for all the clients under this group.
Space Utilization Snapshot for Server:
Total Backup Space on Server - Total disk space available on the server.
Total Backup Space allotted to groups - The sum of the disk space allotted to the different Groups under this server.
Free Backup Space available - Free space available in the server which is not allocated to any Group i.e., it is the difference between total backup space in the server and the total backup space allotted to groups.
The link “Edit Disk Space Allocated for Server/Group/Client” takes the user to Settings -> Disk Space & Client Management. This lists the groups, their clients and their backup schedules with their MCAL and Space details. The space settings can be edited here.
Automatically add clients when they connect to the server [Enable/Disable] - If you want the clients under this group to backup without adding the client names ( IDs) manually in the server, then keep the Auto Authorization enabled for this group. Note that if you disable Auto Authorization for a group (say, ABC Inc.) and if ABC Inc. has 5 MCALs allocated to it, then you can allow clients from ABC Inc. to backup until the 5 MCALs are used. The Clients will be automatically created in the server when the clients backup to this server for the first time. Note that only clients tagged with the group name ABC Inc. (entered during installation) will be allowed to backup to this server under the group ABC Inc. Clients without a valid group name would come under the Default Group.
Email Reports (Enable/Disable) - You can enable Email Reports for particular Customer to receive email reports of backup/restore/delete/replication modules of the clients present under this particular Customer to the email address given in the 'Email' option.
Receive Backup Status Email Reports (Enable/Disable) - You can enable Backup Status Email Reports for the Customer account. When it is enabled, the Customer will receive a status report of the backups from all the clients present under the particular Customer to the email address specified in the Customer account. The Customer will receive this email report only if Client backup status email report is enabled. This email report would be generated based on the filter options set in the Client backup status email report.
Web Portal Access[Enable/Disable] : You can enable web-portal access to your group by which the group can log into the web console of the backup server and manage the backups of the client machines listed under that group. If you would like to enable the web access for the group, then you need to specify a user name and a password which the group will use to log into the backup server web console.
User Name : The user name that the group will use to log into the backup server web console to manage the backups of that group.
Password : The password that the group will use to log into the backup server web console to manage the backups of that group.
Confirm Password : This field is used to confirm that the password is entered correctly in the password field.
Advanced Configuration
- MCALs Allotted - Auto/Number of MCALs allotted while adding the Group. This field can be edited for the Groups other than the 'Default Group'.
MCALs Utilization Snapshot for Server:
Activated [Yes/No] - Only activated Groups' clients are allowed to backup to the server. By default all Groups start off 'Activated'. If you prefer to start this Group in a deactivated state, you can do so. Of course, you can prevent a Group (and hence all the clients under the Group) from backing up to the server by simply deactivating the Group at any time.
Maximum client limit - Using this option you can limit the number of clients that can be added under this group.
Set bandwidth throttling specifically for this group - 's Bandwidth Throttling feature provides a way to limit the bandwidth usage for a backup schedule. Bandwidth Throttling can be configured at the backup server, group and client levels. Once applied, the settings will be applicable to each backup schedule under this Group.

Send a consolidated report across all clients: You can choose to send a ‘Consolidated Group Report’ of all clients under this group. Specify the Email ID of the recipient(s) and the frequency of generation of the consolidated group report (Daily/Weekly/Monthly).[Disabled : If Global configuration is enabled in settings->consolidated customer report page].
Save Button - After configuring the options specified above, click on the "Save" button to save the configuration. Once the Group settings has been saved, a confirm alert message will be displayed to send the account details to the Group in an Email. Click "OK" if you would like to view and send the Email. This confirmation alert will be displayed, only if you have enabled Email feature in the 'Settings->Email Settings' page.
