Email Alert Settings
Overview
StoreGrid can be configured to send out Email alerts for the following conditions
- Server, customer or a client is running out of backup space in the backup server
- Backup Server’s license has expired or is about to expire
- MSPEU shortage in the backup server
- Trial clients’ trial license period has expired or about to expire
Server /Customer/ Client "Used Space Alert"
StoreGrid can be configured to send Email alerts when the disk space available for storing the backup data in the backup server is low. These alerts will be sent when there is a space shortage at the server, customer or at the client level. Additionally, you can configure it to send Email alerts when the backup space used up is nearing a certain percentage of the total space configured for the server, customers and clients. The alert Emails will be sent once every day till more space is allocated for the server, customer or the client.
Backup Server License Alert
Email alerts can be configured to be sent when a backup server license expires or when its expiry date is nearing (optional). The alert Emails will be sent once every day till the backup server license is renewed.
Trial Client License Expiry Alert
StoreGrid by default offers a trial period of 30 days to its trial customers. The backup server can be configured to send Email alerts when the trial period expires for a customer or when the trial period is about to expire (optional). The alert Emails will be sent once every day till the client is migrated to a paid customer or deactivated.
MSPEU License shortage Alert
StoreGrid can send Email alerts when the server or a customer (if certain number of MSPEUs are assigned to the customer) is running out of MSPEUs. The shortage is calculated based on the number of MSPEUs that were used up by the server or the customer during the current month. Like for example, if the server has 30 MSPEUs left and if 50 MSPEUs were used up this month, then an alert will be sent that is insufficient MSPEUs for the next month. The alert Emails will be sent once every day till more MSPEUs are added to the server or for the customer.
Replication Server License Alert (Applicable only for replication server)
StoreGrid can send Email alerts when the replication server license expires or its expiry date is nearing (optional). The alert Emails will be sent once every day till the replication server license is renewed.
This alert is generated by the replication server and sent to the email id(s) configured as recipients. Alert emails are sent as the license expires. The user can also choose to get an alert if the license is approaching its expiration period. The default number of days to alert for server license is 7 days prior to the expiry date.
Limitations
- If StoreGrid is stopped before the trial period expiry date of a client and restarted again after the expiry date, then two Email alerts (one alert that expiry date is nearing and the other that the trial period has expired) will be sent.
- Emails are sent once every 24 hours and not immediately when the alert condition occurs.
